Known for its sun-soaked beaches, entertainment attractions, and magnificent golf courses, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina is a golf lover’s paradise. The region is nestled along the Atlantic Coast and offers a wide array of world-class golf facilities for every player, from weekend warriors to seasoned pros. Today, we’ll delve into the top-rated Myrtle Beach driving ranges, exploring their unique attributes and what makes them stand out in this Golf Mecca.
Legends Golf and Resort: Practice Range
Legends Golf and Resort’s practice range gets more extraordinary with every tee shot attempted. It boasts a 20-acre practice facility that is as finely manicured as any you’ll find. Here, you can refine your long game, work on perfecting your bunker play, or spend time honing your putting skills on the generous practice greens. Another commendable feature of the Legends is the complimentary breakfast buffet, lunch, and two drinks provided to players—making your practice sessions even more enjoyable.
World Tour Golf Links: Driving Range
The World Tour Golf Links offers a unique, unparalleled golfing experience that brings together the greatest designs worldwide into a remarkable Par-72 layout. The Championship tees stretch the course to over 6,800 yards, catering even to the long hitters. The meticulously maintained driving range is the perfect place to warm up before a round or to put in some serious practice time. The unique feature of World Tour Golf Links, however, lies in its 18 “signature holes,” replicated to give you a ‘world tour’ golfing experience.
The Hackler Course at Coastal Carolina University
The Hackler Course, a local favorite, has been serving the Grand Strand golfers for over three decades. The expansive driving range and practice area suit both beginner and seasoned players looking to knock the rust off their swings. At the Hackler Course, a place renowned for its dedication to teaching the game, you can also find PGA Professional staff ready to help players perfect their swing.
River Oaks Golf Plantation: Driving Range
River Oaks Golf Plantation is a 27-hole masterstroke designed by Gene Hamm and Tom Jackson, housing an excellent driving range. With a fully stocked pro shop, golf instruction, and a large practice area, it’s a one-stop solution for those looking to enhance their golf skills. River Oaks ensures a pleasing round on beautifully manicured greens, fairways and tees, along with unmatched Southern Hospitality.
Grande Dunes Resort Club: Practice Facility
Grande Dunes Resort Club’s practice facility is, without doubt, one of the best in South Carolina. Among the club’s top features is its 30,000-square-foot practice range complemented with a large putting green and a short game area. From working on your long game to refining your short game, this practice facility caters to every aspect of the sport, offering a comprehensive golfing experience.
To conclude, Myrtle Beach is endowed with some of the best golf courses and ranges in the country, where pros and beginners alike find their stride. From driving ranges designed to mimic famous golf holes around the world to top-notch instructional facilities, whether it’s your first time holding a club or you’re a seasoned player, Myrtle Beach has a range to suit your needs. So, pack those clubs and make your way down to South Carolina for exceptional golf experiences.
Been to Myrtle Beach a couple of times, and their golf courses never disappoint. Particularly, River Oaks Golf Plantation; love their southern hospitality and the practice area is top-notch. Great place to work on your swings. However, I haven’t been to the Grande Dunes Resort Club, though. Can anyone tell me how crowded it usually gets there?
World Tour Golf Links sounds like something out of a golfer’s dream. Can’t wait to play the world’s greatest holes!
Bringing the kids down to Grande Dunes for the junior clinic next month. Anyone else attending?
The Hackler Course sounds delightful, has anyone taken a lesson with their PGA Professional staff? I’m curious about how beneficial it was? After my visit to Legends Golf and Resort, which was a soulful experience, I would like to better my game before trying out other ranges.
I’m loving the sound of the World Tour Golf Links. Golf tourism at its best!
Myrtle Beach is heaven on Earth for golfers, seriously.
If you’re looking for smooth greens, Legends is the way to go.
The Hackler Course at Coastal Carolina University is my go-to when I’m in Myrtle Beach. The PGA staff is always ready to give you a hand and the dedicated practice area pays big time. And as an Alumnus of Coastal, it’s always nice swing by. Pun intended! 😉
Been to Grande Dunes Resort Club last summer. Lol! Never felt so pro with my rusty putter! Their short game area has helped me big time. I’m planning to visit Myrtle again, maybe I should try Legends Golf next?
Myrtle Beach, here I come! Time to pack up the clubs and get those lessons I’ve been putting off. Will be making a stop at Legends for that complimentary breakfast buffet, hope they’ve got bacon!
Wondering if these courses are beginner-friendly? I’m planning to introduce my wife to golf.
Can anyone speak to the difficulty of River Oaks?
This blog post really paints a vivid picture, I feel like I’m in golfer’s heaven already! Can’t wait to check out River Oaks Golf Plantation’s driving range and the ‘unmatched Southern Hospitality’. So, who else is up for a golf-binge in Myrtle Beach this Fall?
Terrific post! These all sound like incredible golfing experiences.
Played at the River Oaks Plantation a while back, the fairways and tees were indeed beautifully manicured. Yet, I do think their pro shop could use a little more excitment. On the other hand, the hospitality is top notch. Everybody is so welcoming and ready to help. Can’t wait to try out some of the other ranges listed here, especially the Legends Golf and Resort, the complimentary breakfast buffet sounds like a great deal!
Been to a few of these spots myself. Got to say, Myrtle Beach really does live up to the reputation. That World Tour Golf Links is something else, never thought I’d play on St. Andrews Old Course right here in the States. But yes, defo worth a trip!
South Carolina golf is the best of the best. Can’t wait to visit Myrtle Beach again soon.
What can anyone say about the instructional programs at Coastal Carolina University?
Nice. I might have to schedule a trip to Myrtle Beach soon.
I swear the sand traps at River Oaks are magnetised. I spend more time there than on the greens.
Never been to a golfing facility with complimentary breakfast and drinks. Legends sounds amazing!
Great round-up! That breakfast buffet at Legends sounds tempting.
The Hackler Course is so underrated. They’ve done an amazing job maintaining it.
Myrtle Beach is a golfer’s paradise indeed. You’ll need quite a few trips to fully explore all it has to offer.
Been to Legends Golf Resort myself, best breakfast buffet in Myrtle Beach! The greens aren’t too shabby either.
Anyone else feel like the sand traps at River Oaks are a bit brutal? I feel like I’m constantly digging my way out!
Best thing about Myrtle Beach is that golf carts are street legal. Get a hole in one, then drive to the beach!
Am I the only one who feels like Grande Dunes is a tad overrated?
Didn’t even know there were golf courses at Myrtle Beach, here I thought it was just a place for wild parties.
Couldn’t agree more about the Grande Dunes Resort practice facility. I was there for a tournament last spring, and their practice area is absolutely top-notch. If I may ask, has anyone tried the World Tour Golf Links? The ‘signature holes’ idea sounds interesting. Is it gimmicky or does it truly emulate the famous holes?
