Myrtle Beach, popularly referred to as the “Golf Capital of the World,” has always been the go-to destination for avid golfers. With over 100 well-appointed golf courses scattered throughout the vast coastline, Myrtle Beach has a lot to offer. However, besides the stunning golf courses, golf lovers and their families will find another activity quite appealing – shopping! Chocked full of unique boutiques, upscale retail stores, and outdoor markets, the shopping here is just as captivating.
### Myrtle Beach: The Golfer’s Paradise
A golfer’s experience in Myrtle Beach is truly unbeatable, primarily due to the diversity of courses. Whether you are a seasoned golfer or just starting, you’ll find a course that suits your play style. The courses range from being steeped in history, such as Pine Lakes Country Club, to ultra-modern golfing arenas equipped with the latest golfing tech. Every course presents a unique set of challenges, unpredictably merging with the beautiful coastal landscape.
To make the whole golfing experience memorable, many courses have skilled golf trainers on site to provide personal training sessions and golf clinics. You will also find pro shops filled with high-quality golfing equipment, such as club sets, clothing, balls, and even golf-themed memorabilia for you to carry home.
### Shopping Experiences for Everyone
Just as the golf courses cater to a wide range of players, Myrtle Beach shopping centers cater to an array of tastes and budgets. Nestled within the heart of Myrtle Beach is an array of shopping experiences from open-air shopping complexes like Broadway at the Beach, to high-end boutiques at the Market Common, and enormous outlet malls like Tanger Outlets.
Broadway at the Beach provides a unique shopping experience along with dining and leisure activities. It’s a great place for family-friendly shopping, where you can find everything from kitschy gift shops to high-end boutiques.
The Market Common, located on the site of the old Myrtle Beach Air Force Base, is an upscale, urban experience. You can find it all here, from the latest fashions to delicious gastronomic experiences within the rows of specialty shops, boutiques, and restaurants. Oak Street is a paradise for shoe lovers, boasting a selection to delight even the pickiest shopper.
Tanger Outlets offers two locations at Myrtle Beach, the Highway 17 location near North Myrtle Beach and the Highway 501 location near Conway. Both venues offer a robust shopping experience for deal hunters with a discerning taste for quality and brand names.

I absolutely agree with the article. I’ve been going to Myrtle Beach for golf vacations for the past 5 years and it has never disappointed. The variety of courses is a golfer’s dream. And my wife loves the shopping options there. It’s a win-win for everyone!
Good read! I was just wondering if anyone has experience with the personal training at the courses? Are the trainers good at helping to fine-tune a swing? Also, a shopping question… Any idea if the Tanger Outlets have decent golf gear? Cheers!
Holy cow, after reading this post, I can already feel the ocean breeze and hear the ‘clink’ of my driver. Myrtle Beach has been on my bucket list for a while now, and it sounds like a total golfer’s playground. Plus, my wife loves to shop, so this seems like the perfect trip for the both of us. Does anyone know what the best season is to go to avoid any crowded times?
Just back from Myrtle Beach and this blog post is spot on. The golfing opportunities are exceptional – from beginner to advanced courses, they have it all. I particularly enjoyed Pine Lakes. I also loved the shopping, particularly Broadway at the Beach – it had a great mix of stores. I got a couple of top-flight balls from there. A heads up though, it’s worth carrying an umbrella during the shopping strolls!
