Visited Glen Dornoch last summer, and I must say, the Scottish-inspired layout does give the place a unique air. The par-3 13th hole is no joke either. Just make sure you’re fully prepared to tackle that shot over the Intracoastal Waterway!
Sounds like my next golfing destination is in South Carolina! The Glen Dornoch Waterway Golf Links looks like it offers some serious challenges. I’ve gotta test my swing there soon!
Couldn’t agree more, SC’s calling! The challenges make the game worthwhile. Happy golfing!
You’ll love it! South Carolina and golf go together like peanut butter and jelly! Wait till you see that Intracoastal Waterway – it adds real charm to the round.
I’ve played at Glen Dornoch Waterway Golf Links twice, and it’s always a stellar experience. The 13th hole has indeed been a significant challenge, but the breathtaking views more than make up for it. Can’t wait to visit again! Btw, does anyone know if they have a new collection at their pro shop?
Have to agree with this blog post. I played at Glen Dornoch last summer, and it was an unforgettable experience. The course was challenging, but rewarding. Their 13th hole was a real beast – definitely a highlight of the game. However, the local wildlife on the course was a major distraction. Any tips on how to keep them at bay during a game?
The mix of narrow fairways and challenging greens certainly keeps things interesting, doesn’t it? Love the post, always a pleasure to learn about new golf locales. And if there’s a nice restaurant and a pro shop on site, even better. Thanks for sharing!
The course sure keeps you on your toes, doesn’t it? And the restaurant – delicious. Can’t beat enjoying a post-round meal with a view of the course.
Absolutely! Golf locales that offer challenging greens make the game all the more exciting. Can’t wait to pick some new accessories from their pro shop!
Oh wow, the Glen Dornoch links look absolutely divine. Reading this post is making me itch to pack my clubs and head out for a game right away. The Scottish design aspect really piqued my interest, it must add a unique charm to the architecture. However, I am curious about the weather conditions. Can anyone suggest the best time of year for a visit?
My buddies and I are making plans to visit after reading this! But I’ve gotta ask, who’s idea was it to put a hole over the waterway? They must’ve had a good sense of humor, hah!
That hole must’ve been designed on a Friday afternoon – nothing like a bit of fun to spice up the course!
Impressive, truly magnificent views. However, does anyone know if they offer classes or instruction for beginners? I love the amenities they offer; it could be a great place for a vacation and learning combo!
Beginner classes would indeed be a great addition if they don’t already offer. A combo of learning and vacation sounds ideal!
I’d echo StraightDrive87’s sentiments – Glen Dornoch is a top-tier place to play. The Scottish-inspired architecture really sets it apart. The Intracoastal Waterway can be a nightmare for less experienced golfers though. Also, remember to bring enough golf balls – water hazards are ever ready to ‘swallow’ them up! ?
